This Cookie Policy explains how Ignitech Academy ("Ignitech", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on ignitechacademy.org and our learning platform (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. Where a cookie processes personal data, that processing is also governed by the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "NDPA").
Plain-language summary: Essential cookies keep you signed in and the platform secure — these are always on. We ask for your opt-in consent before setting functional or analytics cookies, and you can change your mind any time using the controls below.
1What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember information about your visit — such as keeping you signed in or remembering your settings — which makes the Service work and your next visit smoother. We also use similar technologies, including browser local storage (used by Supabase Auth to maintain your session) and, where enabled, analytics identifiers. In this policy we refer to all of these as "cookies".
2Consent and the law
Under Article 19 of the Nigeria Data Protection Act General Application and Implementation Directive, 2025 (the "GAID"), websites and apps must obtain opt-in consent before placing cookies or similar tracking tools on your device, except for cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to function. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and as easy to withdraw as it is to give.
Accordingly, we set essential cookies automatically because the Service cannot run without them, and we set functional and analytics cookies only after you have consented through our preferences controls. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time in Section 7 below.
3Categories of cookies we use
- Essential cookies — strictly necessary to provide the Service, such as authenticating you, keeping your session secure, and remembering your consent choices. These cannot be switched off.
- Functional cookies — remember your preferences and choices, such as saved courses and display settings, to give you a smoother experience.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand, in aggregate, how learners use the Service so we can improve it. These rely on your consent.

Paystack may also set its own cookies on its hosted checkout pages during payment; those are governed by Paystack's policies (see Section 5). Exact names and durations can change as we update our tools; this table reflects the main cookies in use.
5Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by trusted third parties that provide services on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication and session management. See supabase.com/privacy.
- Paystack — payment processing on its hosted checkout. See paystack.com/privacy.
- Analytics provider (e.g. Google Analytics) — usage measurement, set only with your consent. See the provider's own policy.
These parties process data under their own privacy and cookie policies, and we encourage you to review them. We do not permit advertising networks to set cross-site tracking cookies for the purpose of selling your data.
6Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Service from working — for example, you may be signed out or unable to stay logged in. Helpful links:
7Your cookie preferences
Use the toggles below to control which non-essential cookies we set. Essential cookies are always on because the Service can't run without them. Your choice is recorded in the ig_consent cookie so we can honour it.
Non-essential cookies default to off until you opt in, in line with Article 19 of the GAID.
8Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies or the law evolves. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and version above. Significant changes may also be highlighted on the Service, and we may ask for your consent again where required.
